TDRG1, a developmentaly related testicular-specific gene, which was located in chromosome 6p21.1-p21.2 with 1197 bp in length, may involve in normal human spermatogenesis and fertilization.

TDRG1 was 1197 bp in length, located in chromosome 6p21.1-p21.2. The sequence of the open reading frame was 504-806bp. The cDNA encodes a novel protein of 100 amino acids. TDRG1 is exclusively expressed in the testis but not in any other non-reproductive tissues. TDRG1 is mainly located in spermatogenic cells in seminiferous tubules of adult testis.
G1 is a human testis-specific gene and may play important roles in normal human spermatogenesis.
TDRG1 is specially expressed in spermatogenic cells, with highest expression level during human puberty stage, and decresing levels of expression with aging. Primers for regular RT-PCR and real time RT-PCR were as follows,
