Annotation (From lncRNAdb)

[NONHSAT102247]
Section Description
ID ncR-uPAR
Characteristics ~400 bp. RNA polymerase II transcript. Found several kb upstream of the human protease-activated receptor-1 (PAR-1) gene. Mostly made up of repeat sequences including an Alu element.
Expression Expressed during embryonic development. Presence of the ncR-uPAR promoter sequence drives expression of a transgene during embryonic vascular development at E9, which recapitulates PAR-1 expression at E9 quite well. At E16 expression was seen in brain and in arteries but not veins.
Function ncR-uPAR can act in-trans to stimulate PAR-1 expression. ncR-uPAR binds nuclear proteins in-vivo, which could provide a mechanism for it to positively regulate the PAR-1 promoter during embryogenesis.
Misc Refseq ncR-uPAR appears to be the ncR-uPAR promoter and the lncRNA sequence. UCSC genomic co-ordinates are to this Refseq annotation, while the sequence provided is from the identified transcriptional start site to the end of the polyadenylation sites (exact 3' terminus is unknown).
Name ncR-uPAR: non-protein coding RNA, upstream of F2R/PAR1
