Welcome to LncRNAWiki
52,616 human long non-coding RNAs inside
Introduction
LncRNAWiki is a wiki-based database for management of human lncRNAs, aiming to harness collective intelligence to collect, edit, and annotate information about human lncRNAs. This database is a publicly editable and open-content platform for community curation of human lncRNAs, bearing the potential to become a comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge base for human lncRNAs. We provide download of basic information (genomic location, classification, and sequence) of the non-redundant human lncRNAs (52,616 lncRNAs). Our present data is based on GENCODE V15, NONCODE V3.0, LNCipedia V2.1, and lncRNAdb (downloaded on Feb. 21st, 2013). Media:BasicInfor.txt Word.png
Data sources
LncRNAs in present database are collected from GENCODE V15, NONCODE V4, LNCipedia V2.1, and LncRNAdb (downloaded on Feb. 21st, 2013).

Classification

There is no standard classification of lncRNA at present, and the classification of lncRNA based on genomic location is suggested to be of great biological significance (Ma etal. 2013, RNA Biology).
We classified lncRNAs into four groups (intergenic, intronic, sense and antisense) based on their genomic location in respect to protein-coding genes. As it is more complicated for the condition of sense and antisense, we also listed different kinds of sense and antisense lncRNAs, which can be viewed through different categories.
