Unlike conventional biological databases based on expert curation, lncRNAWiki harnesses collective intelligence to collect, edit and annotate information about lncRNAs, quantifies users' contributions in each annotated lncRNA and provides explicit authorship to encourage more participation from the whole scientific community.
