ETS1-AS1, a novel lncRNA associated with the gastric cancer progression.
ETS1-AS1: ETS1 antisense RNA 1 (HGNC:53932)
pancEts-1: Ets-1 promoter-associated noncoding RNA
Ets-1 promoter-associated noncoding RNA (pancEts-1) is a novel 1395-nt lncRNA consisting of four exons and is polyadenylated. It is associated with poor survival of gastric cancer. It targets the promoter region of Ets-1 at chromosome 11q24.3. Northern blot analysis confirmed the existence of 1.3-kb pancEts-1 transcript in MKN-45 cells.
pancEts-1 facilitates the physical interaction between NONO protein and Ets related gene (ERG), resulting in increased ERG transactivation and transcription of Ets-1 associated with gastric cancer progression. In addition, pancEts-1 facilitates the growth and aggressiveness of gastric cancer cells via interacting with NONO.
In gastric cancer tissues, pancEts-1 was upregulated and significantly correlated with Ets-1 levels.
High pancEts-1 expression in gastric cancer patients was associated with poor survival.
